PLAYS in Berkeley!

Now - November 16th (DMDCAF planning on 11/15)

Working for the Mouse plays Fridays-Sundays at La Val's Subterranean in Berkeley until November 16th! One man show based on four years actual experience working as a character/"cast member" at Disneyland (Reservations: 510.464.4468)

 

Now - November 19th (DMDCAF planning on 11/17)

The talented Thessaly Lerner writes and directs The Canadian Play, a political satire showing Mondays and Tuesdays through November 19th at La Val's Subterranean! (Reservations: 510.704.8210)


Now - November 17 @ Fort Mason; November 21 - December 1 @ Julia Morgan Theater in Berkeley: Word for Word follows up their wonderful Tobias Wolff run with an interpretation of John Steinbeck's Cannery Row!

  November 7-23: The Big Bang, the Buddha and the Baby Boom by Wes "Scoop" Nisker of radio fame and beyond will perform his solo show at The Marsh Theater on Valencia (Marsh Reservations: 415.826.5750)

November 9-10: The Green Festival, a project of Global Exchange, Co-op America and Bioneers is being held at the San Francisco Design Center (corner of 8th & Brannan Street)   November 9-10: Storyteller Brenda Wong Aoki joins other talented performers in Ghost Festival 2: A First Voice Production, Kuan-Yin: Our Lady of Compassion at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.


Still more Excellent Fall Film Festivals!

11/1-12: The Arab Film Festival promises to be an intriguing collection of films showing at the Roxie, the Fine Arts Cinema, and the Castro.

11/1-21: The Latino Film Festival is screening films at eleven venues throughout the Bay Area, including Yerba Buena, Fine Arts, Rafael!

11/7-14: The American Indian Film Festival shows films at the Palace of Fine Arts and the Galaxy Theater in SF. We will definitely be there opening night (11/7) for the basketball related documentary, Chiefs.

11/13-17: Film Arts Foundation Film Festival has a number of provocative programs showcasing talented local filmmakers.


Early December Music

December 1: Alexa Weber-Morales sings with The Vincent Robinson Collective at The Canvas Cafe/Gallery on 1200 9th Avenue in SF.   December 13-14: Linda Tillery and Holly Near at the Brava! for Women in the Arts for two exquisite evenings of female vocalization.
