My love and obsession for The Dave Matthews Band has come to an end. Everything was great before they came out with the album, Everyday. What was DMB thinking? It can't get more ordinary and boring than that. They have fallen into the unimaginable-the "pop" world. Perhaps that was the direction they were heading anyways. I just don't get it. The beautiful lyrics and creative music composition have disappeared. I suppose I just have to hang on to songs like "#41", "Two-step", and "Warehouse" to remind myself that they were once a band filled with integrity. I just wish they didn't care about being on MTV and becoming a top 40's band. It makes me so sad. Why would I want to spend mega-bucks to see them live at a crappy venue like the Shoreline just to get a crappy seat. It is not intimate at all. And it is extremely annoying to be around drunken fools, yelling the entire time not even listening to DMB. What I want to know is, does DMB care about their old fans, or do they just want a bunch of mainstream, MTV goers as fans? Maybe they want it all, but some of their old fans are disenchanted with their latest album. I hope they realize that they need to take a different direction--oh, but guess what? They won't, because Hollywood just picked up a couple of songs off of their latest album. This is just my personal opinion on how DMB-- Let Me Down! |
