Just when we were all beginning to question the value of life on this planet..DMDCAF UPDATE!!! Apologies to all of our fans (I think there are three and one is NOT a relative) for our long absence. Twenty unit quarters take their toll. The new reality is that the web site will be updated the first Sunday of every month. If you still need email contact, please let me know (and if you want to never again be contacted by email, let me know). I hope you will contact us via email or any means at your disposal with feedback, corrections, problems, and ideas for the web site and our shared world wide discussion of ideas. Now to the in-person invitation! What: A DMDCAF Celebration Play Spectacular! Here is the unofficial top seven list of things to celebrate at 30 View Lane with us on Sunday, June 23, 2002 (we'd have ten but we can afford that many writers): 7) DMD 'aduated hisself from UCSC with a Ballerina of Arts in American Studies, albeit exactly ten years later than expected. 6) Madeline celebrates her birthday on Friday, June 21st with the official release of the 26 minute, 34 second documentary of her life story: One of A Kind: My Amazing MOM! In extremely limited release at press time, but we're all very excited about it nonetheless!! 5) David and Candice are celebrating the 3rd anniversary of their DMDCAF Unification Celebration (circa 6/19/1999)! 4) We love 30 View Lane, but it is a house and pool and nature love fest to be shared with all of you so join us! (And the pool is looking beautiful, so come any time all summer to use it!) 3) DMDCAF Update is now a web site. Please visit it at dmdcaf.home.mindspring.com. It will be updated the first Sunday of every month. It is a work in progress and we greatly desire FEEBACK from all of you. Share it with us any way you like (email might be easiest but we are open). We want it to help develop a community discussion. We are certainly not elitist experts on any of the heading areas on the site, they are just some of the ones we care about. We are also not experts on web design, so feedback of any which way is welcome. We are clearly graphically challenged, but have ideas to improve that disability, though your ideas are welcome again. We hope to have a discussion board soon; but in the mean time please email all of your thoughts, your links, suggestions, opinions, philosophies. Just no jokes. Unless you wrote it yourself. Those we love. 2) It's just been too darn long since we have had a social play gathering at 30 View Lane and some of you have never even been her gosh darn it--it's time for some things to change!! 1) We MISS YOU!!! We've been busy and so have you. We hope you can make it on this particular day to share with us and friends and acquaintances. If not, we hope you will be in touch so we can get together one day soon! No graduation, birthday, or anniversary presents will be accepted. With this generous and absolute stipulation, we do however request: NO questions about what the heck David is going to do with his life, what the youthful actual age of Madeline is, nor if DMDCAF's unification is on the rocks cuz we like our ice SHAVED--come have some with us on 6/23/2002!! In review: June 23, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. for DMD Graduation Ceremony (four minutes and guaranteed to be an audience pleaser), DMDCAF new statement of vows (10:35 a.m. two minutes or less each), and hours of playplayplaying of softball, basketball, swimming, ping pong, eating shaved ice and other goodies, relaxing, chilling, warming, enjoying the natural serenity potential of one 30 View Lane. We know it's an early start for a Sunday, but that's why the incredible, unimaginable, surprise ceremony is right off the bat--cuz we got a lot of low key fun play scheduled for the rest of the day. Now get thee to the rest of the mania known as DMDCAF UPDATE! No graphics as of yet, it's text heavy so put on your reading glasses and dig in and type up any simple thoughts you might have or develop to send our way!! Get thee to the DMDCAF Entotainment Update or other surprises like the verbose monstrosity known as the DMD Sport Commentary, and still more elements and text to provoke you into previously unknown realms of consciousness (or lower your IQ by the click, one or the other we're certain). Additional Personal Updates CAF just completed her third year of every kind of experience as a teacher at Marina Middle School. Now that an eight grade graduation speaker powerfully compared her to the legend of Rosa Parks, she is ready to move on to 8th grade social studies and the fascinating subject that is U.S. History. Meanwhile, an authentic videotape of a live dance routine from 1981 by Candice (age 8) with her incredible sistah JoAnn (age 10) grooving to a Rick James tune is now in the video archives of 30 View Lane. Another great year of inspiration and perspiration for Candice Asa Fukumoto-Dunham, to be topped off by taking fourteen eighth graders to Maui for one week. We'll be telling you all about it as soon if we return alive. DMD just completed his fourteenth year of undergraduate study at UCSanta Cruz. Wait a minute. I guess he had about ten years off somewhere in the middle there. But seriously, proud to have done it later rather than never. And it required maximum effort all the way. A 20 unit spring quarter was intense, disciplined, sleep deprived, and gratifying. Though I will not field questions about my immediate plans, I am definitely open and listening to any vocational opportunities any of you might come across. Finding some type of income is definitely a priority for this family to be able to afford to continue to share the loving hospitality know as 30 View Lane. I hope to find a way to work in an area related to one of my very few interests. But I am listening to all suggestions you might have.
