| We started off the summer with Madeline/Mom's
60th Surprise Party on June 7th. It was indeed a success with
the help of many wonderful people, but especially Grandma Helen
and JoAnn. Candice had the most difficult job on June 7th, she
had to take Madeline to lunch and the movies while the others
had it easy decorating, setting up the food, parking cars, and
getting everything ready. Madeline was shocked! She had no idea
that we were planning this big shing dig for her. We had a good
time putting it together and we just want to thank everyone for
helping out and celebrating Madeline/Mom's 60th birthday with
us.
We celebrated Madeline's birthday a little early because David and I took a trip to fabulous New Mexico. Our main focus was Amy and Bob's wonderful wedding occasion in the Jemez Mountains. We had such a great time meeting Amy and Bob's wonderful friends and family. We had great weather, food, company, and scenery. What more could you ask for. To no surprise, Bob is quite the expert on Southwest history in which he took us hiking to check out Native American ruins and rock art. What made it even better was the fact that noone else was around but us. It was like we were the only ones alive on top of the mountain. We ended the week by camping on Mt. Baldy and Amy and Bob took good care of us. We are very lucky to have such wonderful friends like them. Of course, this will be our only trip this summer due to work and summer school. We had an amazing trip and hope to go back to NM soon. Robin and Richard Keightley were unable to make it to NM for Amy and Bob's wedding because they had a baby girl, Sophie Ann. My tough BF delivered a 5lb 11oz baby on Friday, June 27th around 7 am. I believe they are doing just fine and getting used to being parents. Spooky!!!! I haven't seen her yet but hope to visit the Keightleys July 17-18. We are so happy and wish them the very best. We are getting ready for some serious soaking in the sun, swimmin', eatin', laughin', playin', on July 12th. Remember, we are going to play softball at 11 am at Walnut Creek elementary (just up the street on Walnut Blvd.) first, and then swim, eat, and do some other activities. If you have baseball gloves, softballs, or other equipment please bring it with you. Remember to bring something to bbq or whatever else. We will have shaved ice, beverages, and other things to eat. Looking forward to seeing you all at 30 View Lane!! Take care, |
